Quick Build Kit Arrives

Working from Australia, there is a lot that can go wrong with the transportation of a Quickbuild Kit. It has come from the Phillipines, to Oregon, and then through LA across the Pacific Ocean to Sydney. Finally I have to get it from Sydney to my workshop in a hangar near Manilla (NSW). The big day of arrival was Friday 11th February 2005. Only another 1000 - 2000 hours of building to go!! Anway, here are some photos of the kit crates arriving...

Delivered by a semi-trailer, through the paddocks to the hangar

Geoff was real careful with the fuse crate on the rough ground

And the finish kit and wings crates. Very professional.

At last. Safe and sound in the hangar.

All my Christmases have come at once! The fuselage is a thing of beauty

As are the wings, which remain in the crate for safe storage at the moment.

The workmanship on the rivets is excellent

When doing the inventory, I marked everything I could identify

The canopy is large, floppy, and very heavy. Care!

Under the fuselage is a box with tubing, assorted sheet metal components and rudder pedals

These shelves store the components by function as much as possible

Not shown are about two hundred small brown paper bags of rivets, bolts, nuts screws, tubing accessories etc. Inventorying them is a pain. Also included were dual brakes, wheels, tyres, engine mount and gear legs, gear and other fairings - all too much to take in one day. Time to finish the elevators at move on with "the big stuff".
