Planning versions of the Panel Part of the deal is you need to become familiar with options for your instrument panel. There is not much space on the panel and you need more instruments than you might suspect to approach the normal GA-type of panel. I am old-fashioned and decided to go with a standard steam-gauge six pack, augmented by a few navigaional instruments. The pics below show some of the stages Iwent though between 2004 and 2005.
CAUTION: What you don't know until you get the gear is that Van's map box is quite deep and actually fits between the instrument panel and the instrument sub-panel about 8" forward of the instrument panel. Holes need to be cut in BOTH panels to fit the box. Since their is a taper to the fuselage section, the map box cannot be placed on the outer regions near the edge of the instrument panel (as some of my designs above show eroneously). It's straight edges would have to pokes outside the curve of teh fuse - not on of course. Hence my FINAL DESIGN has this box located near the centre of the right panel. Acknowledgement - All of these designs were produced with the aid of Bill Von Dane's excellent Experimental Panel Builder. It is one of the best websites around for builders.
